Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about CrossFit standards.
Benchmark WODs (Workouts of the Day) are standardized workouts used across the CrossFit community to measure fitness progress. They include Girl WODs (like Fran, Grace, Diane), Hero WODs (like Murph, DT), and Open workouts.
Percentiles are based on aggregated data from CrossFit Games leaderboards, BTWB (Beyond The Whiteboard), and community consensus. They represent where your score falls relative to the global CrossFit population.
Strength levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite) are based on 1RM relative to bodyweight. Standards come from established strength training research and are adjusted by bodyweight bracket and gender.
If you can complete the workout as prescribed (Rx) with good form, go Rx. If the Rx weight compromises your form or makes the workout take significantly longer than intended, scale the weight down.
Most athletes retest key benchmarks every 3-6 months. This gives enough time for meaningful training adaptations while keeping you motivated with measurable progress.
